This project concerns an innovative avionic radar system for advanced land monitoring. It includes study and technological development on new Synthetic Aperture Radar (FLoSAR) looking forward with respect to the aircraft flight, able to electronically scan the antenna beam perpendicularly to the motion and acquire high resolution images in front of the aircraft. This system will be able to monitor the land before aircraft passes over it and to provide information that, with real time processing, will allow to drive the aircraft. Possible system applications concern civil, military and space domains. In the civil sector the system application could be for land and sea monitoring by civil protection in case of earthquake, eruption and similar events, or as support system for aircraft landing. In military sector its application concerns the object identification by unmanned vehicles and in the space field advanced land and sea survey system by satellite.
